Revolution Racecars A1R

CED was responsible for the design and engineering of the CFRP safety cell (built to stringent FIA regulations and testing), wings, floor and double halo. This included all stages of design and finite element analysis using the Ansys Enterprise suite. We were also responsible for all tooling design and DFM.

Since the development of the first car, Revolution have become a respected force throughout the industry, going on to provide Formula 1 support races, with CED providing ongoing developmental support.

Ginetta Akula

'Starting with a blank sheet of paper Ginetta has created a true mid-mid engine design with an all carbon monocoque, LMP-derived aerodynamics and an in-house designed powertrain resulting in a driver-orientated package for the road.'

The involvement of CED was in the design and finite element analysis of the full carbon chassis, including tooling design.

FIA static load tests

Full suite of FIA static tests on a Formula series car. We have a deep understanding of FIA requirements from years in F1, LMP1, and many other classes, as well as the testing processes undertaken at Cranfield Universities testing centre. CED can assist in guiding you through this process, during what can be a particularly stressful time...

Conversion of Porsche 911 metallic impact structures to CFRP. Through reverse engineering the metallic version, we were able to design, analyse, and validate through testing the front and rear crash structures, saving significant weight.
